–Compared the Rolex diamond dial I just returned to others on eBay. In hindsight, it’s laughably fake. There’s a beautiful black diamond dial available, but it only fits five-digit Presidents (18038 etc.). Don’t know if I want to buy it and keep it in the chest for a watch someday or not. Kinda like the 5512 “tritinova” dial I have: it could be a long time and a lot of money before I find an appropriate vehicle for that.<\/p>\n
–Accidentallt found Thom Brogan at Badger and Blade last night. He responded “yessir” to a PM asking if that was THE Thom Brogan, but went silent when I asked if he wanted to resume our correspondence. (1) He may think I was responsible for the downfall of Fred’s Cutlery Forum. (2) I have the vaguest recollection of a nasty exchange on a blog of his post-Fred. It’s been over a month since I’ve heard from Lee Elliott too, after he went on and on about how he was going to dedicate some time each day for corresponding.
